Chuck and Alice Belt
Spout Spring Estates Vineyard & Winery
If you get a chance to visit Spout Spring Estates Vineyard & Winery in Blaine, TN, it’s a treat! Check and Alice Belt have transformed their “retirement” home into a second career, creating a breathtaking vineyard and event venue perfect for everything from weddings to intimate family get-togethers on their spacious porch tasting room. They grow all the grapes for their wines, except blackberries, which are purchased from a neighboring farm.
Combing southern charm and worldly wine sophistication, Chuck and Alice will welcome you into their home and winery like family. We caught up with Chuck, the winemaker, and Alice, the vineyard manager, recently for a quick Q & A:
Q – If you had just THREE words to describe your wine style, what would they be?
A – Alice: Dry Tennessee Vinifera
A – Chuck: Rare, distinctive, complex
Q – What’s your favorite part of running a winery? Least Fav?
A – Alice: Favorite part would probably be drinking wine and meeting people. Least Favorite would be working every day!
A – Chuck: Favorite part would be the whole life style, culture and meeting people. Least favorite would be regulations.
Q – How has COVID changed your winery, and what do you most look forward to post-coronoa-life?
A – Covid has had minimal effect on our operation. We have 60 acres and plenty of space for social distancing!! Sunshine, fresh air and wine is good for everyone. Post Corona – getting and giving hugs!
Q – Anything else you want folks to know about your winery?
A – Alice: Everyone loves to visit, drink wine, bring friends and enjoy the hospitality and the view. We are dog friendly!! We are a wedding and event venue.
A – Chuck: Tour the vineyard and winery to experience the culture of Spout Spring Estates.
