GRAND TASTING INFO

WHAT IS A TENNESSEE WINE TASTING?

Grand Tasting, May 19 – When you enter the festival, you will be given a tasting glass, a 6-compartment wine tote, and a festival map. You will be invited to sample 1-ounce portions of wine and cider from every winery, and you’ll have the chance to meet and chat with winemakers, and buy bottles of wine directly from them.

We also have complimentary wine seminars, chef demonstrations and live music. Plus there will be craft and business vendors there to enjoy as well. Seating and shade is available, but feel free to bring a lawn chair to enjoy an evening beside beautiful Melton Lake!

Food

Food is available from a dozen food vendors (extra charge). Food vendors, apply here.

PARKING

Parking for the Grand Tasting is free AFTER 2 p.m.

Festival begins at 3 p.m. Free parking is available in the main boathouse lot, the peninsula, and extra parking is available in the boat field. Parking is also free along Melton Lake Drive. There is no bus or off-site parking this year; there’s plenty of parking up close!

The Dogwood Master’s Regatta will be racing that morning in the park, and they are charging $10 per parking to park in the main lot. So if you arrive before 2 p.m., you will be charged to park.

VALID ID

Don’t forget your ID! TN law requires that we check ID of all wine tasting participants, and you must be over 21 with a valid ID to taste. No exceptions.

BUY FROM WINEMAKERS

You won’t find many Tennessee wines in a grocery or liquor store, so this is your chance to stock up on local wines that are your favorites! Our winemakers take cash, credit and debit cards, and we’ll give you a 6-compartment wine tote so you can take your favorites home to enjoy.

Take advantage of our free “Wine Corral,” a tent where you can store your purchases while you enjoy the festival.

WINE CORRAL

Our free wine corral is a tent where you can drop off your purchases and our volunteers will take care of them. It’s close to the entrance, so you can just drive up and pick up as you leave.

LODGING

Stay with our preferred hotels and enjoy their festival discounts:

CHILDREN

We love kids, but we discourage them from attending this event. All children entering the festival area must wear a non-tasting wristband ($10 at the gate). Please keep in mind that there are no activities for children,  and the playground will be used for the Barrels of Fun Charity race (weather permitting), and therefore not available to children.
